This past week, Engadget and Gizmodo founder Peter Rojas and former Engadget writer Ryan Block released their newest project, GDGT.com.
“Gadget,” or G-D-G-T, is an electronics database combined with a social network. When you sign up for an account, you can set up your profile by going through all of the gadgets and picking out the gadgets you have, have had, or want. After doing this, you can then embed a widget into many different places with your GDGT information on it. If you look to the sidebar at the right you’ll see mine.
But that’s not all. GDGT is also a discussion site in which you can talk with other people about gadgets, ask support questions for your gadgets, or give out tips and hacks for your gadgets. Then you can submit your own reviews to the gadgets you own.
GDGT is great for when you are debating buying a gadget. You can login and ask a question about a certain gagdet and have people who own the gadget tell you the pros and cons of buying it. Or if your not the social type, you can explore the many reviews from both users, and from trusted sites like Gizmodo and Engadget.
Overall GDGT is a great site that I will expect to keep growing as more and more people hear about it.
